  1. This image, "Darn Good Sandwich" was created on an 040 based Amiga 2000,
  2. using Imagine and Steve Worley's Essence textures.  The image has since
  3. appeared in the February 1994 issue of AV Video on page 182.
  4. It was created to test out some of the features of Essence.
  5.  
  6. The image has some interesting things about it.  First off, I added
  7. some mildly gross mold (or something like it) to the crust of the bread.
  8. Also, their is a really nice reflection in the glass of milk.
  9. There are no image maps in this entire scene; everything is procedural
  10. textures (THANKS STEVE!).
  11.  
  12. Why did I render a sandwich?  Well, I was just a little sick of
  13. space / underwater / cars / blah, blah, blah stuff.  Including
  14. renderings that are supposed to be so "artistic" and full of meaning.  I
  15. wanted to render something that had absolutely NO artistic value or meaning.
  16. It's just a sandwich; there are no insights into the human mind, or social
  17. statements, or anything else resembling the rantings of the politically 
  18. correct art crowd - its a bologna sandwich. (as Oscar Meyer spelled it =)
